Managing eucalyptus trees in agroforestry systems: Productivity parameters and PAR transmittance

چکیده

Agroforestry systems, in which trees and crops are cultivated rotation, succession, or association with pastures, alternatives for the sustainable implementation of agriculture. This study estimated productive characteristics from eight years old eucalyptus different agroforestry systems transmission photosynthetically active solar radiation (PAR). These were composed a pasture palisade grass (Urochloa brizantha “BRS Piatã”) (Eucalyptus urograndis “GG100”) planted April 2011 single rows 15 m apart 2 in-row spacing, totaling 333 ha?1. In 2016, half thinned, spacing was changed to × 4 m. The two then evaluated using an integrated crop-livestock-forestry system (agrosilvopasture renewal, ICLF) livestock-forest (silvopasture no ILF). Each had 12 paddocks 5000 m2. ICLF, renewed one-third each replication area (two paddocks) per crop year, where simultaneously sown corn silage. Pasture renewal carried out 2013–2014, 2014–2015, 2016–2017, 2017–2018 growing seasons. Data collected 2016 June 2019, when 110 harvested determine wood volume 28 gather rings samples canopy, roots, carbon content. data used build equations estimating stem (m3 tree?1) tree biomass (kg tree?1). Organic inputs from agroforestry trees on-farms for improving soil quality and crop productivity in Ethiopia

Indigenous agroforestry trees and shrubs on farmlands are an under-utilized resource that can be used as green manures (GM) to alleviate declining soil fertility and productivity. The aims of studies described in this thesis were to investigate: (1) the seasonal dynamics in chemical contents of foliage from selected tree species potentially available as sources of GM, (2) rates and patterns of ...

Knowledge Systems in Agroforestry

Pacific Islands agroforestry has evolved into sustainable, diverse and productive a land use systems in many areas. We marvel at these systems, and the scientific world is trying to catch up with the traditional knowledge. At the same time, Pacific Islands farmers are abandoning their agroforestry systems in great numbers. It is mainly intensified agriculture for cash crop production that follo...

Agroforestry and GIS: Achieving Land Productivity and Environmental Protection

Agroforestry, the deliberate integration of trees into crop and livestock operations, has the potential to achieve many of the environmental, economic, and social objectives being demanded from working landscapes by landowners and society. To simultaneously address these diverse landowner and societal goals, a multi-scale planning process must be utilized. This planning process can be expedited...

Intercropping Competition between Apple Trees and Crops in Agroforestry Systems on the Loess Plateau of China

Agroforestry has been widely practiced in the Loess Plateau region of China because of its prominent effects in reducing soil and water losses, improving land-use efficiency and increasing economic returns. However, the agroforestry practices may lead to competition between crops and trees for underground soil moisture and nutrients, and the trees on the canopy layer may also lead to shortage o...
